Creative and Performing Arts at Cammeraygal High School
The Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) faculty at Cammeraygal High School encourages independent creative and critical thinking by engaging students in diverse and innovative learning experiences, celebrating the transformative power of the creative and performing arts. The CAPA faculty’s initiatives and program challenge and empower students to achieve their personal best. With experienced educators specialising in Music, Photographic and Digital Media, and Visual Arts, our teachers collaborate to promote student achievement and are dedicated to provide engaging and enriching experiences for a diversity of learners.
At Cammeraygal High School, all students participate in Stage 4 (Years 7-8) courses in Music and Visual Arts, and students can continue their Creative and Performing Arts studies in Stage 5 (Year 9-10) electives include Music, Photographic and Digital Media, and Visual Arts. In Stage 6 (Years 11–12), our CAPA offerings include, Music 1, Music 2, Music Extension and Visual Arts.
Our students consistently achieve excellent results in the HSC across all CAPA subjects, regularly attaining Band 5 and Band 6 results. Many have been recognised through prestigious opportunities such as the NSW Arts Unit’s Art Express, Music Ensembles and Encore nominations, showcasing our faculty’s commitment to artistic excellence.
Music Ensembles
Cammeraygal High School Music Ensembles give students a wonderful opportunity to become more involved in school life while also continuing to develop their skills with their chosen instruments/voice. The ensembles allow talented musicians to work with other like-minded students and teachers at school. They rehearse on a weekly basis and perform regularly within school and where other opportunities outside school are available. Participation in the Ensembles Program is extremely beneficial for students, not only for their development as musicians, but as leaders and representatives of Cammeraygal High School.
