The heart of provision for all students is differentiation in the classroom. As a comprehensive school, we believe that students can achieve highly and develop as rounded individuals by working with each other in a range of groupings, whether that be mixed ability or ability groupings. All classroom settings will have learners with different needs and rates of progressions – it follows that all types of grouping need teaching that is personalised and differentiated.
Our Head Teacher Teaching & Learning works with all faculties to ensure that specific provision is made for the most able students in every lesson and program of study. Coaching individual teachers, regularly leading Professional Learning sessions and advising teachers on the most appropriate strategies for the specific students they teach.
