In all NSW Government schools time is to be allowed for the religious education of children of any religious persuasion by a member of the clergy or other religious teacher of that persuasion, authorised by the religious body to which the member of the clergy or other religious teacher belongs.
At Cammeraygal HS Special Religious Education (SRE) is delivered on Thursdays from 8:45am to 9:15am and is currently run by authorised volunteers of Catholic and Protestant Christian religious persuasions. We would be happy to include other religious groups within the SRE program should an appropriate teacher be made available.
Students who do not attend SRE will participate in meaningful activities such as reading, private study or the completion of homework during this time. However, no academic instruction will take place.
On enrolment Parents / Carers will be given an SRE participation letter to complete and return. After the initial enrolment, notification of changes to a child's enrolment in SRE should be given in writing by emailing the school.
